I've been doing some prep for a tournament I have on Saturday and I've been going over my attacks against the Semi Slav. Normally, I play an Anti-Meran and Anti-Moscow sort of opening and I recently came across this variation in a Carlsen - Anand game where Magnus won. The variation is known as the Stoltz Variation, Shabalov Attack. I'm a career QG player and was wondering how effective this opening is in relation to the kind of compensation. Keep in mind I'm playing Class C and B players. I'll post the line below. Any and all comments will be appreciated.

It can get dangerous if black accepts on g4, but black is not forced to take on g4.  7...Bb4 is a strong move, giving the f6 knight the e4 square.  If black does take on g4 you get nice compensation.
