i have been learning the Sicilian Dragon and i was reading about the importance of the Dragon Bishop, i have been following the usual lines, but i was informed of a new line where i dont think i can keep the bishop.

the question i have is: is there a way to avoid losing the bishop?

in most dragon games white playes f3 befor Qd2 because black can play 7...Ng4 then is Bg5 the h6

In this position u could try Ng4 instead of catling, because white didnt play f3

Yeah, like Scott said 7...Ng4 solves a lot of your troubles and brings Black quick equality.

To me, 7. Qd2 looks like an inaccuracy, and 7. ... Ng4, as suggested, preserves your bishop with an edge.
