I am mainly a Sicilian player.. recently though, it has been producing very dry, boring games due to anti-sicilians (Bc4, Bb5+, etc), there are just too many lines for White to follow for me to have an enjoyable game. Therefore, I've decided to learn the French as black!
It's very enjoyable to play so far. I'm about 1600 OTB strength; what books/resources/sites etc would you recommend for learning the opening? Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I don't want any crap about how I should "focus on tactics and strategies".. I'm doing my fair share of all material, please answer my question without criticism.
how about chess.com game explorer
I think the Killer French Dvd's are good and yet accessible.
I'll check them out, thanks
Any other ideas? I'd preferably like to focus on media, I don't absorb information as well from books.
+1 for Killer DVDs. Also "Foxy Openings" has a few good ones - to be honest, even if it's a bit old by now I still think the Daniel King video on the French (Vol 1) is the best beginner-to-advanced introduction to the French I've ever seen. Really good stuff.
