I was wondering what y'all do in response to 1. e4 e5 2. Ke2 Nf6. This seems to be a common response by black. Do you advance the king? push to d3? Or to d4 (my favorite)?
an interesting question. You have 2 choices, you can defend the pawn with your king, or you could gambit the pawn and then attack the knight with the king, gaining a tempo. Both seem equally lost for white.
1.e4 e5 2.Ke2 Nf6 3.Qe1! Nxe4 4.Kd1!! is the Bongcloud Gambit.
My Fortress Variation goes
1.e4 e5 2.Ke2 Nf6 3.d3 d5 4.f3 Be6 5.Nc3
fortress variation? what...are you actually trying to not lose?
If you ever regain consciousness and find yourself in this position, realize you have stumbled into some chronic stuff, put down the bong, step away from the chessboard, and get some water and maybe some munchies - nachos would be cool, or maybe peanuts, or . . . cupcakes! Couldn't you just get into a cupcake right now, dude? Or chips . . . man, it's so wild that Fritos Scoops are shaped like little scoops, dig it . . . so you can scoop the dip with the Scoop! It's like some dude somewhere anticipated a need or something . . . is my face getting longer?
I can't understand why you play Ke2. Please help me!
Read the post above yours. It should explain everything.
