1. e4...d5 2. f3
Idea: kind of like the Blackmar-Diemer Gambit
hmm, seems weakening, I never play f3 unless absolutely necessary, that's where my knight likes to go!
a real chess "genius" wouldn't play 2. ... dxe?
Welllllll it is set to instant move, but it usually makes pretty good moves.
I like the fxe4; the way I try to play it is so that the pawn on f3 is taken; I use the 3rd. move to develop and the Knight takes on f3
oh yeah. Good point Jetsetter. Well, I guess that'll be what I use from now on.
if i were black -
2.f3!? e6 with the threat of being 3...dxe4 and if white insists on 4.fxe4?? Qh4+
I guess it is possible to tranpose into BDG with d4...
3. exd5 exd5, when the pawn on f3 simply looks out of place... just a thought...
I play the scandinavian all the time. If ever that gambit were used to me i'll simply just pass it
Looks like you might get the weaknesses of the Bird without the control of e5. Plus your own knight is blocked from its strongest square.
The good players always take ed5 my friendo"
move d4. Now. You'll win a pawn.
your move might have some surprise value, but punishing black's first obnoxious move by exd looks better to me.
