Scandinavian Defense Question

I have this rinky dink application on my Blackberry, and no matter what, if I play E4, bet money, it's going to play D5.  However, black's 4th move (Nd7) has continued to give me problems.  Now I have beaten it a couple of times, and all I have to do is memorize the moves I made and I'm sure to beat it every time (the proverbial cheating at solitare), and that's why I say it's a rinky dink app.  So I play it straight up, and unless I do remember the postions, patterns, etc. it thrashes me over an over again.  There's absolutely ZERO games in any database, including Chess.com's, that has black's 4th move Nd7 as a continuation.  Has anybody played against it or does anyone play the Scandinavian?  Have any other Blackberry users downloaded this app (Chess Odesys) had this experience?

    1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Qxd5 3.Nc3 Qa5 4.d4 e5?!

This move is the Andersson Counterattack, which was refuted by Tal.

    5.Nf3 Nd7?!

    Another poor move by black.

6.Bd2! I think this move is a killer for black.

    6...c6 7.Qe2

    6...Bb4 7.a3 Bxc3 8.Bxc3 Qd5 9.dxe5

White has a significant advantage in all lines.

     Made a mistake, it's black's 4th move!

Oops, thanks for pointing that out.  I have no idea why I thought that e5 was played.  Ghost moves...

    1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Qxd5 3.Nc3 Qa5 4.d4 Nd7 5.Bd3 Ngf6 6.Nf3 e6 7.Bd2 Bb4 8.0-0 and white has a solid advantage.  Black will struggle to find activity for his light square bishop.

No, it was my mistake, not yours.  So, this is how it usually play's out...UNTIL black's 6th move.  You played e6, but the app ALWAYS plays e5!!! Attacking the d4 pawn and looking to strengthen the pin on the knight on c3.

Can you please share Tal's refutation, please? Thanks.

Please see the game Tal-Skuja 1958

    1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Qxd5 3.Nc3 Qa5 4.d4 e5 5.Nf3 Bb4 6.Bd2 exd4 7.Qe2+ Ne7 8.Nxd4 which is better for white.

It is considered a refutation, but in reality it just shows that 4...e5 is dubious.  Black can play these lines, but they will be at a solid disadvantage.

The line you asked about is 1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Qxd5 3.Nc3 Qa5 4.d4 Nd7.  This is just not a good move.  It places the Knight passively for no particular reason, inhibits the development of the Bc8, and blocks the half-open d-file without benefit.

    White should simply play 5 Nf3 Ngf6  6 Bd3 e6  7 0-0 Be7 (or 7...Bb4 8 Bd2 and White will eventually gain a tempo on the Bb4 with the useful move a2-a3)  8 Bf4 0-0  9 Qd2! and White is beautifully placed.

    If 5 ... e5?!, 6 Bd2! Nf6 ( or ...Bb4  7 a3! Bxc3  8 Bxc3 Qb6  9 dxe5 Ne7  10 Qd4! rules the board)  7 dxe5 Ng4  8 e6! fxe6  9 Qe2 and White is kicking asp and taking names.

I just saw this tonight - of course we can explore the line.  I've moved.
