Hi to all.I would like to have some hints how to have a good position in the opening while playing White against the Sicilian Defense. All your suggestions will be welcome. Thanks and good day to all.
If you want to play something viable, with very little theory to memorize (factly, almost no theory) then 2.d3 is worth looking at.
It can become a Closed Sicilian, a KIA, or something completely independent- although transpositions can happen.
You just have to understand a few typical pawn structures that can occur after that modest approach.
You are not guaranteed getting an edge like that, but the same applies for almost all Open Sicilian mainlines.
hasve you ever tried playing Nce2 on the sixth move of a standard sicilian?
I like the IM's idea if you want to take the scicillan on though maroxzy bind is usefull posionally. I also seamed to be succesfull with a very basic rule preventind a usefull b5 or d5 if this happens i find black can never mount significant counter play you technicly cannot prevent b5 but you can still defuse it!
What would you say the pros and cons are of playing that as opposed to, say, 2.b3?
