yes i have to agree with graw on that considering there are a numerous amount of variations in the encyclopedia of chess openings B20-B99.and 1.e4 c5 can turn into any of them. But i printed a openings encylopdia for free and i don't know if they still have it but the web link was http://www.studentorg.umd.edu/cc/eco.html and like i said i dont know if they still have i'll check real fast and post the answer.

I'll give you a dollar if you memorize every Sicilian line 30 ply deep. Tongue out

The advice given you by Graw81 and Sniperghost360 is very good.  The Sicilian is a complex system, whether playing from the White or Black side.  After looking at a number of games you need to decide which positions arrived at suite you.  This is very important.  I'm always amazed at how poorly some players play when they are defending (for example), simply because they don't like to do so.

Personally, I like the positions I get from playing the Black side of a Sicilian Hedgehog (B42).  It centers around Black playing his pawns up to e6, d6, b6, and fianchettoing his QB.  White must always be on the lookout for Black's two excellent freeing moves, ...d5 or ...b5.  I've certainly lost my share of games with this, but have some good ones too!  The main thing for me, though, is I enjoy playing these types of positions.

Enjoy...

I personally enjoy 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 g6.... I find it leads to numerous different open positions and seems to make white squirm a little....

I also like to play ...g6 and put my KB on g7 in many variations.  But there are so many different positions in the Sicilian opening that it just makes my head swim when someone who is starting out want to play it...

chesscamp, here's a game I played against a friend. It begins with tradtional sicilian play, but breaks the line quickly. I dont know exactly how helpful it might be but it is a scilian game regardless =)
