Well it started off as a simple guide, but now I can't change the title , and I guess it'll be a general guide.
But it'll still only include the first opening/defending moves - not too deep.
Thanks, Rámon - i'll include those :)
Hey Josh, your work is very good and with all little comments you could have a real handbook of
openings for beginners in few time...
A good introduction to some of the main openings, with a nice amount of info, and well written too! I wish it had been available when I was 8 yrs old :-) Good stuff!
The only negative thing I have to say about it is that I'm not sure I quite agree that "it is known" that 3...a6 is the best move in the Ruy Lopez given how popular the Berlin is at the highest level. However, 3...a6 is the most common move, so I guess I can understand that. Otherwise, this is nicely done.
In that case don't forget the Grünfeld, Benoni, Petroff, (Staunton?)1.f4. Maybe the Orangutan (Polish), the Grob, Latvian gamit, but if it's a simple guide it should include only the most standard openings
