I know this game wasnt great and it was 5 minute blitz on ICC and heres the game.  My opponent was actually FIDE OTB 1618 and here it goes.  While reading some books againt D4 and Grandmasters opening with the slav i realized that f5 pawn and the use of f file becomes extremely significant.  Even though i didn't utilize this i felt that the slav's mobility and the use of the closed position with an open F file was extremely powerful.  Just something i felt like sharing with the chess.com community.

Interesting and "cool" final! But if 14.Df2... mmm :)

Formally formation c6-d5-e6 is the Semislav opening, but the game seems to be a tranposition to any sort of agressive Dutch-Stonewall!

Congratulations!

As White, I would have probably accepted the Marshall Defense with 3.cxd5 instead of transposing to the Slav.

Interesting how the game further transposed into the Stonewall Dutch.

First... like Blackwaive said 3.cxd5 is the best choice. It is mad to transpose to Slav when you get the oportunity to chop off d5.

Second, do you realise you didnt touch your lightsquared bishop until move 24?

What kind of player neglects his light pieces until move 24? mm? mm?
