There's no opening system that gaurantees you a forced superior endgame.
System or Opening with flexibility towards Simplification
grunfeld, noteboom, caro kann all give good endgames for black, but they definately dont lessen study time.
probably the Berlin defense .The mainline leads to a rich endgame but you are structurally worse but you will possess the bishop pair
I remember 1 of Josh Waitzkin lessons in ChessMaster, he discuss a game where his opponent has weakness and he traded all his peices and play straight to end game. Right from end of the opening he already noticed that going to the end game will give him advantage. That game has very few middle game moves which most are just trading.
Trying to play for an endgame is an unsound strategy, if a situation happens to arise during a game where you can do it then fine, go for it, but going into the game with that as a goal is seldom going to work & if your opponent realizes it he can take counter measures to frustrate you, often to his advantage.
As far as study goes if you are going to specialize it may take even more study as your options are limited & you have less margin for error.
Hi Chess Masters,
What Systems or Openings offer flexibility towards end game?
Example, During the opening my opponent end up with weak pawn structure, then i can force to trade all or most of the pieces (spending very few moves in middlegame) and play the end game abusing his weak pawn structure.
I feel doing this will lessen study time, lessen need to prepare for variations, get an advantage as most players dont study end game.
Thank you and more power to Chess.com
