How many times have I set the Tarrasch Trap in the usually unfulfilled hope that my opponent might fall into it? Recently I was surprised when an oppenent took the bait. As a reminder to the unwary this arises early in the standard Pillsbury Variation of the Queen'sGambit Declined. White thinks to gain a pawn because of his pin on Black's knight, only to find that the pin is illusory and he loses the farm.
As one who has never read a chess book, I appreciate little gems like this to increase my knowledge of the game and certain tactics. Thanks
very nice.
This is a nice trap in that it's actaully plausible.
Thanks!
