I have only played this opening about 3 times because I thought it really had no merit, but I recently played this game and found some great success with it!  It also makes for a very strategic game!  Hope you like it!

The object, I've heard, with the Bongcloud is to get to the other side of the board!  The second rank is pretty darn good!  I think that is exactly where my success came in.

The Bongloud is a very good opening.  It gets the king to the center of the board, which is a very good thing in the endgame.  The center of the board allows pieces from every side of the board to defend it.  Truly, this opening has some serious merit.

No, I'd never use this opening. It allows a good player to get you in checkmate rather early, and you can't attack very well. This is the worst opening ever. Once I played the Fried Fox Pork Chop opening which does actually have a good purpose.

Why the bloody hell does white miss 12. Qb3#? Otherwise I can't argue seeing as I attempt to "sacrifice" my King far to often.

The Bongcloud is one of the strongest openings. You controlling the center with quick flashes of the white Bishop. In anny case you need to be creative after move 11.

Well executed in your case.

Play the game like it should.  Have the king lead the troops into battle!

This is by FAR the worst opening I have ever seen in my entire life! Your opponent must have been really, really dumb. Everybody knows you shouldn't bring your King into the center of the board in the opening!

I have no words to describe how shaken I am that any self-respecting chess player should think this was a good opening. I'm wasting good typing space...

To anyone "dis"-ing this opening(Bongcloud) and thread:  You must be rated UNDER 1300 in order to dis the thread, otherwise you get the joke!

If you didn't understand that --> YES this opening is a joke.

To the uninitiated this may look foolhardy, but the opening's architect played for a long time on this site using this opening exclusively:

Sadly, King Lenny no longer graces us wtih his presence.
