ok my favorite opening is the danish gambit.  it goes like this

this opening has many drawbacks but there are many ways white can win this position.   i want to know if people think the drawbacks are worth it.

I play it a lot in live blitz games; it is an exciting opening with plenty of interesting options.

However, the Schlechter Defense kind of takes the edge out of the opening.

Any other 5th move by black leads to very exciting games, especially the Collijn variaton, 5 ... Qe7.

Declining the gambit with 3 ... d5 is a safe way out.

I find it very suitable for practise, since you really must make something of your active position, or the 2 pawns sacrifised will cost you the game.
