Thats a four move checkmate Tongue out, not a five move one, known as scholars mate, and it's widely known.  I think I see it from 1200 players one out of four games.  My uncle refuses to play a differant opening.

Stronger players don't use it, as similarly strong players will guard against it, and gain a better position then normal (the queen is out too early, and its taking the knights best square up, quite adventageous to black).  And if somebody can't guard against it successfully, they are likely weak players that they could have beat them using any opening.

A two move checkmate, known as fools mate.
