Not to nit pick, but Eric Schiller called the moves 1.e4 c5 2.d4 cxd4 3.f4 the Halasz Gambit and gives no mention to 3.Bd3.
I am interested your 3.Bd3 variation though, and following the dicussion closely.

@DarthMusashi - After this game I never tried the gambit again because I knew that I should have lost, and I am not sure how to improve. If 10.Qe1 is incorrect, what does White play instead?
The move 10.Qe1 is correct, however you should try to push your pawn to the
f6 square or do a N sac on the f6 square to weaken the Black kingside position.
There is also the strategy of opening the h file. See the 2 sample games
below. The 2 games are with different openings however the position is
the very similar.
