I was wondering what KIA and KID players think about the following question.  What do you think the extra tempo does for White in the KIA?  Does it help white greatly? Or, does it not really matter?  If you want to discuss more of these types of questions, go to this group.

i don't mind playing either side of the kings indian, i think it's just as good, the plan is the same, the position of the opposing side is a bit different... but thats it.

The King's Indian Attack is positional. It is very flexible. You could say the King's Indian Attack is somewhat similar to the English Opening. KIA, is the KIA. It is a touchy opening. I found out very recently that it is just as broad as the Sicilians can be.
