d6 after Bb5. I always do that

Anyhow, 3 d6 is the old Steinitz defense. It's fairly passive and anyone who knows what he's doing will bust down your center and squash you.

Of course, by playing it for a while, you'll learn its limitations and why it is not quite the best. So go for it.
