Thanks, coach. Here's a recent game I played on FICS with the London due to what I learned from you. It's an unrated game but against a higher rated player. I was surprised at how easy I won considering  how much higher rated he was than me. My 'handle' on FICS is ChevetteEighty. Hope you enjoy. I would appreciate any comments you might have.

It's just a matter of priorities.

Without knowing the ideas behind that opening, you'll have trouble understanding many suggested lines in opening theory, and you'll have a very hard time finding new ideas of your own in that opening.

 

So, understanding the opening is of course very important. Still, knowing the theory in addition to that helps a LOT, it's just not the main priority.
