Anybody?
variations of dragon sicilian
Too complex for me to comment. Check the books "Sicilian Attacks" by Yakovich and "Chess Developments the Sicilian Dragon" by Vigorito.

ok, ill give it a try. I need a book specialized in the normal dragon.
will those books do the trick?
thanks anyway :)
The first diagram is of the Sicilian, dragon, Yugoslav attack, Rauser variation but I haven't lol read the other posts you have yet but its good for black they white wouldn't want to go down that road and if Qxa8 white ends up losing his queen and game pretty much with Bf5 whites only response is to take the rook on f8 with check
I already know that... I'm talking about a general assesment of the position , most of it when white avoids taking the rook. Ivanchuk used to play it as white and there are several intresting games for white in this position (though now a days it's less popular) so i wonder if white can fight for an advantage here or is it vice versa?
Concerning the first position, I would not be at all happy playing White here. It looks terrifying and I would expect Black to be able to whip up a strong attack quite easily.
If anything, Black's missing pawn looks like a bonus for black, because he has more open files directed straight at the White king. Sure, I can imagine an experienced grandmaster capable of excellent calculation and confident in his defensive technique, might be willing to be White here. But an ordinary player, such as myself, would avoid this position, despite the extra pawn.
I play the dragon for some time now and it got me wonder about some variations of it.
What should be the modern assesment of this position?
black should have some very good compensation for the pawn but do you think white can hold and fight for an advantage here? or is it black who is better here?
The other variation i wonder about is:
What do you think should be black best approach and plan over here?
In this variation , white attacks with g4 without even 0-0-0
what should be black best approach over here?
Be6 was played in those positions but as a general plan?
thanks everybody :)
