I came across this strange line in the sicilian  which I though was just a blundered pawn from my opponent. I'm sorry dont know why it came out as a puzzle just click solution.

q-a5+ followed by nxe4 seems pretty winning to me

what if white just simply plays Bd2

You can probably just play 5 ...e6. Maybe in a blitz or bullet  game 5...Qa5+ then if 6 Bd2 Qc5 is perhaps okay. Personally I would stick with e6.

Disclaimer: I'm just guessing and I'm not very good :-\

Well, first of all the trade isn't so bad in principal, an e pawn for a f pawn and a knight for a bishop.  (don't move back though with Ke8).

Secondly, if you can't immediately punish it, just play a normal move.  The only value was that trick, so it probably a sub-optimal square.  Call it easy equality and just play Nc6.

Yes, after 8...Kg7 my computer likes black a little bit more.  At first it was saying = but I was wondering why with the bishop pair and center pawns.  Finally it says =/+

q-a5 b-d2 then...q-c5 and if b-b5+ then simply b-d7 and after the bishop exchange the knight on d4 is hanging and the e4 pawn is hanging with no tricks that I can see

Putting the queen on a5 looks fine to me, but I don't think she's headed for c5.  (For example white will avoid the fork with Nc3).

Usually black is a little more patient with the queen placement (maybe it wants c7 or b6) but actually that's about the limit of my knowledge on the Sicilian haha, so maybe in this position it belongs on a5.

agreed it seems Qa5 refutes the idea.

You blundered with the king back to e8?  King goes to g7 losing the knight but setting up development much more quickly  than white could with even pieces.

Black has many good choices on move 5

    5...Qa5+ 6 c3 Nxe4 (if 6 Bd2 Qc5 or 6...Qe5) or 6....e6

In the game, both 8...Kg7 and 8...e6 are good for Black.

    @ Janael

What I posted is for chessmaster102 and what you wrote in post 18 is incorrect.

Janael, chess is not thousands of years old. earliest version of it came in 6th century AD.

Chessmaster102, instead of 2...d6 play e6 on your 2nd move.

I believe its called the kan variation of the sicilian.

its called the paulson var and I did use to play it now 2...d6 is more interesting to me since it presents more chances to win than the paulson in my oppinion of course.

P.S Everyone should ignore janel since his ignorance is obvious.

the reason I played Ke8 is cause I wanted to keeep my king in the center for the early endgame which I forsaw after 1.e4/c5 2.Nf3/d6 3.d4/cxd4 4.Nxd4/Nf6 5.Bc4/Nxe4 6.Bxf7+/Kxf7 7.Qh5+/g6 8.Qd5+/Ke8 9.Qxe4/Qa5+ 10.Nc3/Qe5 those were the actual moves that occurred in the game I played just so you know.

    The opening is definitely not Kan / Paulsen. Kan arises after 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 e6 3. d4 cxd 4. Nxd4 a6.

I think the variation you showed is Sozin, where white develops his light squared bishop to c4. I too would probably play e6 right away to reduce the effect of this bishop in this diagonal, also the move aims to bring black's dark squared bishop to e7 to enable castling.
