    For ChessCafe:

    http://www.chesscafe.com/

Then go to archives, look for Gary Lanes column, Opening Lanes.

Is there something that explains more than just different lines? I'd love a book or webpage that is more thorough in explanation than a bunch of long strings of continuations. Sure, there are beginner opening books, like Seirawan's Winning Chess Openings -- but that's more of a primer. I'm looking for something that says, for example, "here is the root of the opening. Here is our advantages/drawbacks. Here is how we utilize them. This move starts a variation that focuses on this advantage, while this variation focuses on doing this..." and so on. Is there anything like this available?
