I can already spot a few problems, but every defense has its kinks (except for maybe the Sicilian). Tell me what your thoughts are on this approach to Queen's Gambit, and post a game that includes it if you know of any.
Just to be clear, the original line is: 1. d4 d5 2. c4 b6
That move hangs a piece: 9. Bb5?? Bxb5. The knight can't take back, since it's pinned to the king.
Ok, thanks for your comments, but:
1. BackIn94, you give no reasons to support your argument.
2. second_wind: I already addressed that. That's why it's 9. Bb5??. I left that move in there by mistake (the board editor wouldn't let me delete it), but I left alternatives in the move list.
fianchetto queen is fun to look at but I can't see any particular reason to play this line. It's got all kinds of problems. Also a4 seem completely irrelevant.
Very ugly position for black to be in. That queen is useless there. B6 move played to early in my opinion.
I think that ...b6 is bad, and you've already shown us the reason why yourself: after 3.cxd5 Qxd5 4.Nc3 and e4 later White gets a nice pawn center. This is the sort of thing White is dreaming of when he decides to play 2.c4.
