    2nd one, it grabs more space in the center.

    In the second position, white has a greater spatial advantage, and he temporarily prevents black from developing certain minor pieces. 

    The first position is more or less completely winning for white too, but if black were able to develop at the same rate white did, then the backwards d pawn can become quite a big weakness for white if it's not allowed to advance.

    2nd one, more space, and 1 weakens d4. u'll have a hard time getting setup 2 tho.

     wow, you can know a position is winning for white without knowing where the black pieces are?! Impressive..
