thanks, I did realise it was a terrible opening, but it is not true that the darksquare bishop is blocked, as you could fianchetto it.
Not sure what Iwould do as black. ..d5!? straight away is interesting. ...Nc6 is solid and can't be bad.
blasterdragon that actually leads to a pretty good position in that sequence, maybe I might try it every now and again (eg every 250th game or something, especially against a lower rated opponent
Apperently this is actually a line of the Ponzani that ussually occures after 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. c3 Nf6 4. Bd3
