    This is a slightly inferior way to enter the Blackmar Diemer, as Black has the extra option of playing the Hubner Defense e.g. Nxe4 instead of dxe4 which simply transposes.  Better is 2 e4, although this defense occurs in the Indian game, when Black plays an early d5.
