Guys, could you stop spamming this thread with off-topic trash talk, please? Nobody here is interested in your centaur chess "achievements" as they really aren't comparable to real CC achievements, e.g. mine.

Some people have misconceptions, indicating interest enough to form an opinion. Merely setting the record straight is not trash-talking. What is trash-talking is you belittling others' accomplishments compared to your own. Advocating human-only CC is just inviting cheaters. Always has, always will.

This thread was created particularly for advertisement purposes to revive serious human CC. If I weren't sure cheating can be policed effectively, I wouldn't start this.

Advertising the computer-assisted CC here I see as off-topic, inappropriate and impolite. Nobody pressures you to participate in human CC. Centaur CC is your personal preference, but if you have nothing relevant to add, keep your mouth shut.

It's funny talking about about "real CC achievements" and referring to a virtual reality, which (at least currently) exists only in your head.

    Wow, troll spotted!

Even if we accept centaur CC as equally valuable counterpart to human CC (I don't), your LSS and ICCF aren't virtual reality?

How many CC tournaments have you won?

Circular argument. Go and read a book on how to construct an argument 101, FirebrandX.

I could just as easily argue that OTB chess invites cheaters because we don't whack rybka on the table for both players to see.

Go ahead and read a book on a straw-man argument as well. In OTB, you have a much better view of your opponent than in CC (which is exactly no view at all), thus making it significantly harder to cheat. Granted it still can happen like in the case of Ivanov, but now imagine CC where every human-only professed CC site have their top 100 literally filled with cheaters.

Even here on chess.com, the average bannings of players breaking 2300 online is around 1/3 the player base above that mark. Think about how pervasive that is. Your "counterpoint" about OTB doesn't even register with those figures.

The final point as I've made before is even the USCF is starting to realize having a human-only CC rating scale is fast losing out to cheaters. After nearly everyone cheated in their Absolute Championship last year, they conceded and made engines allowed in this year's. You KNOW it's getting bad when they fold on that restriction.

I've been playing CC for just about one year. So far I've finished three Round Robins on LSS, and I have won all three of them, and I'm about to win a couple more. In short, nothing comparable to your remarkable CC achievements.*

Your tendency to discard everything that doesn't fit your virtual reality as trolling is, errr, moving. You have deservedly won my respect, sir.

I am amused. I definitely underestimated you.

    * I am glad you got it. Honestly, you are damn right.

I have won (or shared 1st place) in 4 CC tournaments, once I came 2nd and once 3rd, my worst result so far. (One of my above mentioned victories was originally stolen by cheater who was banned 2 years later, just for the record if you counted my trophies and came to inaccurate result.) I *do* value these achievements definitely higher than some ICCF or LSS computer-assisted competitions, no matter how they call them.

I said numerous times the USCF's "honor approach" is bad example, because it doesn't work. Cheating culture is contagious if you don't police it strictly.

Chess.com detection system used to be terrible in the past. It's a lot better now, unfortunately it is underused in the CC in favour of the Live chess.

One of purposes of this group is to employ independent effective cheat policing and establish elite online community of serious strong trustworthy honest chess players. What is wrong with it?

    So be it.

User pfren showed disrespectful attitude towards me and my ideas, hence he isn't allowed to contribute in my threads anymore.
