Looking for a local club in MI

I live in Wixom, MI, and I'm new to the game. I'm looking for a place that's not overly competative, but still offers some good opponents, a welcoming environment, and the ability to learn. Are there any fellow Michiganders out there in my area that know of such a place? Thanks.

(I tried using the website's search engine, but it keeps giving me locations in Florida. And yes, I checked my location information.)

I used to live in Michigan, in the Detroit area, many years ago.

You'll probably want to join the Michigan Chess Association.  Among other perks, it had a great magazine.

The city of Troy had a great club when I was there.  It appears it's still around.

Please follow up with any of these clubs:
