    dear chess.com

I would like to recommend that you host a tournament that is available to all members and the winner gets a 5 year free membership second 3 year membership third a 1 year free membership, alert everybody about the tournament by sending them a message and give them five weeks to join the tournament.

Great idea!  One other idea is that they do about ten smaller tournys and give out like one month free memberships instead of like 5 years becouse if you do one big tourny than so many people will join that it will be totaly unfair for the semi good people.  I really like your idea so maybe we could make a list of peoples names kind of like a petition to do that and then when we get about 50 names we can send a message to Chess.com about it.  We can tell people by sending them a personal note.

I was thinking of having groups of 10, the top 5 move on to the next stage. After the first round give everybody a couple of weeks break so they can refresh themselves. (time control should be five days).

Hey that sounds great.  maybe we should have it at 5 days time control for the first about 5 rounds than start taking it down to 4 days, 3 days, then finally two days for the last semi-finals and finals.  Because if a player is good enough to get to those levels of play then he/she should care enough to not run out of time.   Once we decid on the time limet then we should notifie people about this.

The only problem is getting chess.com to agree with the tournament but other than that everything sounds good.

Maybe BobbyJr would like to put up the prize fund. I am already doing that with a club tournament - in this case, a chess book.

Good idea, but i think people will prefer to win a membership instead of a book.(no offence).

Lol i think you misunderstood him xD

    I did not misunderstood him.

He wanted someone else to provide a prize in a tournament. Why can't he do that instead of suggestiing someone else to do it?

I put my money in a tournament if I want a better tournament. Why can't he?

It would be hard sending prizes all across the world.

Actually, I think you are misunderstanding now. I think divinev meant that bobby misunderstood you, or perhaps I'm misunderstanding.

shouldn't take more than 5 years to complete the tournament having 5 people go through each group.

True, but if u can get the earlier finishing groups starting the next round early it might not take 5 years.

    Ok bobby jr. hows this.

    Dear Chess.com friends,

Myself and ClockBurner have been thinking about haveing Chess.com host a tourny that will be played with out rounds.  Whoever gets through all the rounds and wins the final round will get a free 5 year platinum membership payed by Chess.com.  Also the person that played and lost the final round will also get a free 2 year membership.  Although this would be very exiting to do so there is only one small problom, we need Chess.com to accept the idea first!  What we need to do is to get a petition signed by everyone posible then I will present it to Chess.com with the names of everyone.  This will hopefully show Chess.com that we do want to have a tourny like this.  My friend will make a post named "Chess touny for mebership" where I am hopeing that we can fill an entire few pages with names of people that would like to pertisepate in this.  If this goes through with Chess.com than we will give you more info. before the actual tourny.  Thank you for considering!

Please note bobby jr that when in my form I wrote it like I was you when I talk about "I" then I really mean you.  (becouse you are the one sending it out)  and when I talk about "my friend" I'm talking about myself.  I hope this works!

    ClockBurner

P.S. I already made a form for this.  You can go read it if you want.

The only problem I see is that the message doesnt have ur name on it cause you have done as much work as I have done so you should put ur name on it. (the topic u just started should be petition for tournament).
