Probably Norman Whitaker, Bobby Fischer, Peter Damiano, Hideki Nakamura (Japan), and DMX (the rapper).
Many people rate Tal, Fischer and Alekhine etc. highest because of their dynamic styles that make attractive games. I myself am one of them, my favorite player is Tal. That being said, positional and perhaps better players do not often appear on people's list. I, for one, think that Capablanca should be on the top five on any list. Just something to consider.
My top 5 in no particular order

2. Garry Kasparov
3. Jose Raul Capablanca
4. Alexander Alekhine
5. Emanuel Lasker

I gave extra credit for guys that dominated their era over guys that were objectively better players. In other words, mine is a top 5 of historical significance.
