1 and 3 would be a major problem with me.

In answer, mattattack99, the group objective is to use the site to experiment, and to try new things within the freedom of a group of friends who will not judge, or laugh at new ideas. Who knows - some new ideas or style of play might result from this. Most of the games will be unrated, so it is intended as a light hearted break from the rigours of other games and clubs. We welcome any like minded members. Your comments however, are much appreciated and acknowledged by us, thanks.
To add to Douggie`s post regarding our site/team, we just want to bring back some fun into the game, where its ok to lose, to laugh at the loss, try something absolutly outrageous as an opening or defense and see where it goes as a game and if you win great, if you lose great, play for the fun of playing, experiment with ridiculous moves, the whole point of our site is to enjoy chess and laugh and open your mind beyond classic book openings and defenses...just...enjoy chess

Don't think many will join, unless you post the name of the team!Or a link might be better.

What I thought too.....
The name of the team is 'no fear' which is intended as no fear of losing or being laughed at for trying obscure ideas, such as abandoning the centre in favour of a wing attack- maybe silly, but might have something in it.
That's nice, but it would be better still if you posted a link.
That will be forthcoming shortly

I am intrigued, and indeed tempted, but surely it is better to test out unconventional ideas against opponents who play in a conventional style, ie the rest of chess.com. Whacky versus whacky is not a true test of the ideas being tested.
Someone convince me!
Hi Grum, to introduce myself I am the creator of our site "No Fear" along with Douggie who liked my idea and so took up the mantle of Admin...my idea regarding the site was to play games based purely on the element of fun first and formost, irrespective of whether a player uses a non-standard opening or not, it is an attempt to play moves or openings that you would like to try, experiment with, (but wouldnt play in a serious match), as a site/team we will of course enter and play against other teams in serious competition, but the initial idea to build our members is still to play for fun... as such, to cater for experimentation, all the games played amongst ourselves are "unrated".
Hope this goes some way to convincing you...regards Jacky
Thanks for that, Jacky. I remain intrigued, and will give it some serious thought over the next few days.
