I like Gonnosuke's style the best from the games I have looked at on here. Also, tournament points don't count, because one may not be in the hardest tournaments. Awardchess, sorry, but you are not even close man.

Are you guys serious? It's obvious that Greg (AWARDCHESS) is the "greatest" player on Chess.com. Anyone who doubts this should carefully examine post #12 and consider that Greg usually has 1000+ games running concurrently. Only 2 timeouts out of 3152 games completed (despite personal problems recently) speaks for itself. Greg is also active in the forums, admin of various groups and always a gentleman. C'mon now fellahs! credit where credit is due!

p.s. If "greatest" means strongest player then the answer is simple... whoever at the moment tops the "players" list is the greatest. The word strongest wasn't used though.... Greg scores points in every department, he's my hero! Embarassed

From the top ten list above....let's look at it from the perspective of points earned per tournament entered.

  3. Nf6                    27.72
  4. TheChessGym     26.96
  5. GaryD                20.87
  6. Hammers            20.71
  7. jcmargos             20.54
  8. awardchess         15.11
  9. fcpanginen          11.32
  10. lordbobbetti         6.99

i think we should just have a Chess.com Champions Tournament with all the highest rated players. the winner of this tournament can declare themselves the best on chess.com (that is, of course, until the next Champions Tournament ;)

True....I saw the last false timeout hit about a week or two.  Also worth noting is that the speed of the games that Greg is playing has picked up greatly as he is making more moves and playing fewer games now than he was a month back.

Trying to say who is the best player here is akin to saying best movie.  It comes down to how you want to judge it.  But make no mistake, there are some incredible players here.
