I just finished the book "Bobby Fischer vs. the Rest of the World" which is basically the drama of getting him to Iceland and to play Boris Spassky for the Word Championship.  It's light reading, tries to bring out Bobby's personality behind his behaviors, and is even humorous  in places.  I was with a very eccentric mathematian for a few years, and it wasn't much different, except that we didn't last, and that was sad.  I recommend this book to all.

It's a fun read, not least for the way the USCF officials are portrayed.

Short of saying the author fabricated material, I get the feeling he slants text  and context a bit to get his desired effect.

He makes Fischer look like like a near socio-path. I'm sure he was more pleasant than that to be around, if very trying most of the time.
