The Bird Attack (f4) or the English Opening (c4). I prefer the English Opening more than the Bird's Attack because in Bird's Attack you are grabbing the center along with opening a weakness to your king. However, I have been testing Bird's Attacks.

I like to play c4, Nc3, and then when they think I'm playing the English opening, play d4 and play the queen's gambit anyway. Mwahahaha

Btw, does anyone know why the queen's gambit is called a gambit? No one in there right mind ever really takes the pawn...

White is giving up a pawn even though he'll get it back anyway. Sometimes White can make it a real gambit though usually in the Slav.

yes but slav makes for a interisting game
