wasn't Cabalanca the world champion until he died? if he wasn't can you tell me who was and when?
No i believe that was Alekhine who died while holding the title. Cabablanca lost his title to Tal i think?...
Capa is one of the best chess players ever :)
capablanca lost his title to alekhine, alekhine died as the worl champion
Yep he sure is. I love how simple his plans were but how effective he was with it just made it look so easy. I will have to study up on his endgames im told he was a true master that phase of the game...
u guys know alot!
I thought botvinnik did
Yes i know our lives are somewhat sad ha hahahaha. To bother in learning this stuff u really do have to love the game....
Didn't Alekhine dodge Capablanca for the rest of his life after promising a rematch as a condition of their first match?
Capablanca was world champion from 1921-1927. He lost it to Alekhine. Alekhine lost the championship to Max Euwe in 1935. Then regained it in a return match in 1937. Fron then on, Alekhine held the championship until his death in 1946.
that is correct ......butit worth noting that alekhine didnt allow capablanca to rematch him , during the period after 1927 , by demanding high barriers conditions for the rematch , i believe it was not possible because of thr ressession during that period
