Gotta love the direction this thread is taking! I think it's been replaced by some version of Pink Panther syndrome quite recently...
There is no more aspergers syndrome. It no longer exists.
I heard that it was in the forest and a tree fell on it. Well, I didn't really hear it.
When (has) the absence of an OP ever stopped our drunken march towards knowledge and continual self-discovery?

Neither does Fischer. Oh well. This shouldn't slow us down. It does complicate any ideas about intervention though.
You forgot to put "has" in.
You're better than Funk and Wagnells. Thanks for the fix, @Planet.
I don't know what to call my weird "syndrome." When I write things by hand, I sometimes write some letters out of order -- in the correct position, but not necessarily chronologically from left to right. I don't have dyslexia, my hand just sometimes skips a letter even if my brain wanted to write it, so I tell it to go back and fill it in!
I do the same all the time - but curiously only in handwriting, not when typing. I suspect it isn't so uncommon.
funny quirks of the mind... anyone can note or label them - really no trick in that...
My piano professor has the same issue - skipping letters in words when writing... I always found it kind of cute
Do you tend to skip the letters after g?

I do stuff like that a lot.
It's really difficult to tell wether or not Bobby Fischer had Asperger.
He defenitely had a few friends like Lothar Schmid (arbiter of WCC 1972) or Boris V. Spassky. Spassky never tells what Bobby and Spassky shared. Nice of Spassky.
Spassky spoke about other GM like Kortschnoj, T. V. Petrosian, An. Karpov and others. He even made clear why An. Karpov asked the Soviet to let Spassky and Kortschnoj play again abroad after Karpov was WCC. (If Spassky and Kortschnoj had no longer participated in strong tournaments one could have asked: "Who had the new WCC beaten?")
Fischer was a unique personality. But to state he had Asperger you need a psychological test. It's maybe more likely W. A. Mozart had Tourette than Fischer had Asperger. (By the way Asperger is a form of Autism!)
JamieKowalski it's very funny! Maybe skipping letters in words is 'the compensation syndrome of the alter-ego' or something, for all of these hours of piano practice, resulting in NOT skipping (too many) notes...
Spadesplayer Now that's what I call a truly brilliant diagnosis, sir! You're now officially accepted to the guild!
The other two guys Of course I had to take into account that part of participating in this happy thread, will also be receiving my own diagnosis, and free of charge at that!! Always grab what you can have for free, I guess...
