We have the youngest GM Sergey Karjakin and we have the youngest Master Nicholas Nip but for some reason i can't seem to find who is the youngest International Master.

Am looking for who the youngest ever international master world wide, not just in one country. He would of done it before he was 12, because Sergey Karjakin did it at 11 year old (a few days before turning 12).

SAHAJ GROVER BECAME INDIA’S YOUNGEST INTERNATIONAL MASTER

Delhi Chess prodigy and former World Under-10 champion Sahaj Grover became India ’s youngest International Master by winning the final round game against Nicolas Clery to finish a creditable fifth in the Le Touquet International open chess tournament in France. It was a field comprising seven Grandmasters and eight International masters and Sahaj was seeded 19th in the event. Sahahj, made his maiden Grandmaster norm just a month earlier during the Kolkata Open tournament and had 2372 elo rating in the November rating list. He will gain around 35 points from this tournament and which will take his rating beyond 2400 mark, the mandatory requirement for International Master Title. The class IX student started with two wins, including a spectacular effort against Grandmaster Vyacheslav Ikonnikov of Russia and five draws and a couple of more wins later, he assured himself of his sixth International Master norm which was inconsequential.

Yes but his not even close to International Master. He needs 2400 rating and he only has 2200. Yes, this kid is a chess prodigy and yes he has good chances of become the youngest american International Master. But for him to become the youngest IM ever it would take a huge miracle.

He is the youngesnt indian internation master, not the youngest world wide.

He was born in 1995 and he just turned IM a few months ago. Now lets assume he did it in November 2 2009. And lets also a assume his born in December 31, 1995. Witch is the youngest a guy who born in 1995 can be. Then he would of done it at 13 years old going on 14. Witch is roughly 2 years older then the age Sergey got it at.

In 1998 Hikaru Nakamura (born Dec 9, 1987) became America's youngest master at 10 years, 79 days.

Judit Polgar was 12 years and 4 months old when she became International Master in 1988.  Hikaru Nakamura was 13 years old and 2 months when he became an IM in 2000.  In 2001, Sergei Karjakin became an IM at 11 years and 11 months, so he is probably the current record-holder.  Parimarjan Negi became an IM at age 12 years 5 months.  Magnus Carsen was 12 years and 7 months in 2003.

I know. He was a GM before then. I was talking about Josh Waitzkin.
