ok you chess players.i was playing a guy the other night,as we were playing he moved a pawn past my line.then he took my pawn that mirrored his. my ??? is has any 1 ever play or seen a PASS PAWN RULE??   thank u

Not enough detail, but I encourage you to look up "en passant" to see if the en passant rule matches with the situation you encountered.

You aren't real clear here, but I think what you're referring to is en passant.

Basically, if a pawn uses its initial move to move two spaces, and there's an opposing pawn which could have taken it if it had only moved one, then for that turn only, that opposing pawn can capture it as if it had only moved one square.

It would be legal if it happened. You should check en passant rule (which many beginners don't know).

of course he's talking about en passant, the pawn past his line means one on the 5th rank, and then his opponent took one of his pawns en passant the next turn.

Bdsr, I don't know, I think he's referring to the commonly confused rule of taking the mirror pawn when crossing the twenty-yard line, when everyone knows it is the ten-yard line.

I learned the En Passant move from my dad, and when I play my friends I have to constantly show them that the En Passant is legal.
