Must not lose

Death offers you a chance to play a game for your life before claiming you, and generously gives draw odds.  Only if you lose is your life over.  Tired of playing patzers, he says you may nominate any player living or dead to be your champion.  Who is the one player you would choose to play for your life if you Must Not Lose?  Capa?  Petrosian?  Kasparov?  Raw ability, defensive technique, cool head?  Make a great choice...

Kind of a no-brainer. Kasparov. Capa played in an older era that didn't use all the principles we have today. Kasparov beat a freakin' computer, i'm sure he will at least play the game to a draw.

Yeah, no brainer. I'd choose Death to play for me.

    Ulf Andersson lol

    Vladimir Kramnik

Andersson has drawn 64.7% of his games compared to Kramnik's 58.3%, but Ulf has lost 10.4% compared to Kramnik's 9%, and at a lower level. Kramnik seems the better pick.

Kasparov though only lost 7.2% of his games.

    Definitely Tal.

He might not technically be the best chess player, but in the words of the great Lemmy Kilmister, "I don't wanna live forever and don't forget the joker!"

Definatelly not Bobby Fischer, because he would probably forfeit because he didn't like the height of the table.

Not Anand, because he probably won't care much if I die.

Let me choose... my brother. :) He hasn't lost a game in his entire career! This is his amazing record: L:0 D:0 W:0 (JK)

Not my sister, because she would probably lose on purpose. :)

To be serious, I would choose myself. O_O

Considering the fact that death is only rated 800, I think I'd be ok.
