At least you still get rating off them if it is more than four moves into the game.

yes its definitely an annoyance because id prefer to play it out and see who wins, but winning on time is still a win

Is this the official one-liner thread? Perhaps cuz there just isn't that much to say on the topic.

    me too

ditto-but i'd rather play it out. i don't understand why one would come to this site to play chess and then lose on time.

i notice a number of people that play 2-3 moves a day, maybe even almost realtime, until they suddenly have a clearly lost position.

will they resign?  hell no, that would be wussy - so they suddenly drop to 1 move every 3 days; i figure they're waiting for me to drop dead of old age; fat chance!

so they will resign sometimes if they're 1 move from mate, because that's even wussier, but often they just lose on time.

and then there are the wankers who jag a win off a blunder, but know they were lucky, so when you ask for a rematch they're on vacation.

lot's of egos on display in a competitive environment, with an agreed performance metric (ELO ratings), so you gotta expect dodgy behaviour.

    get over it.

Super easy I won four that way when I had lost all my other games

It started a streak of increasingly harder moves to make them have to think about where to move and with that I started to get a streakof wins.Cool
