I am playing someone thats joined chess.com two years after hes been away fromit.as a result hes got a rating in the 1200s.im about 1400 .hes beating me eas ily so i looked at his history and he was a 1781.i dont think its fair that my rating

will suffer badly if i lose.

why are you playing him then?

I thought it was strange also that after registering the first time last week, on my first day with no games played I was given a 1200. I found it intimidating to be honest.

Just play more games and your rating will get back to where it should be.
