Edward Lasker

Here's a brilliant game with video commentary.

5 US Open championships under his belt, invited to play in the 1924 New York chess tournament against many of the greats, once managed to get a draw against Capablanca as black, lived in the shadow of his more famous distant cousin.  Definitely one of the oft overlooked players of his era.

Aside from chess, Edward Lasker has two other very interesting places in history. First, he was instrumental in introducing the Asian game Go to the west; second, he became a millionaire after inventing the breast-milk pump. He may have been "Lasker Common" to Emmanuel's "Lasker Preferred," but he was laughing all the way to the bank.
