OK I'll risk starting a thread. This is for those great & intellectual GM comments we hear from time to time. Like another thread it says Kasparov said Judit was a trained, er something. I think it was dog. Short said Kasparov is a baboon. Nimzovich said "How could I LOSE to this Idiot~!!"

Dedicated to GM's everywhere at their finest moments. I'm even willing to let in the IM's on this one. Maybe some FM's.

Nimzowitsch said: "Why must I lose to this idiot?"

Kasparov said: “All women are inferior to men.” LOL

luis3141 ... Thanks! I stand corrected. Now that you mention it, too, it only makes sense that he asked "why", having already just discovered, "HOW" he could lose to that idiot .. Laughing  Besides "How" being the province of Science, leaving WHY to Religion for answers. Clearly this is a question that only a higher power might answer..."You are being Punished Aaron!"Hubris; You thought you had a System

Paul Morphy asked "Why must we have bacon for breakfast every day?" meaning, of course, that everyone else was idiots, and that he preferred 1. e4 to 1.d4.

"Hold the phone!"--Walter Browne (whenever too many hands started flying around the analysis table during post-mortems).  And somebody else--I don't remember who--would say "Too many hands!" in such a situation.

A stranger once began to play an offhand chess game with Capablanca.  Capablanca, to give the man a better chance, took his Queen off the board, to play him at Queen odds.

At this gesture, the stranger became upset, claiming that because Capa didn't know who he was, he therefore didn't know his playing strength, and could possibly be beaten fairly.  Capablanca's response:

"Sir, if you could beat me, I would know you."
