Have anyone heard of the windmill tactic?

It's a sequence of a discovered check; then a regular check; followed by a discovered check, etc.

This is the first time i heard about windwill tactic, but it is very interesting.

Of course, White might well prefer 1 Ng5, which looks to mate quickly (sorry--couldn't resist!).

I actually learned about the windmill tactic - or at least the name for it - a few days ago...  Great example Skipp!

 

The windmill tactic is an incredible and ingenious way of getting ahead in material.

I got the example from Yassir Seriwan's book "Winning Chess Tactics", which I've been studying; since I'm a rank beginner [at age 57] and am just now trying to learn this fascinating [and frustrating] game. How a game can draw you into it and then make you want to rip out your hair, I'll never understand.

I feel bad for black in that situation. They lost all of their material and there was nothing they could do.

Another flaw with the second example is that ends up as stalemate, best to take Queen with the rook.
