Have anyone heard of the windmill tactic?
It's a sequence of a discovered check; then a regular check; followed by a discovered check, etc.
This is the first time i heard about windwill tactic, but it is very interesting.
Thanks for sharing!
Of course, White might well prefer 1 Ng5, which looks to mate quickly (sorry--couldn't resist!).
I actually learned about the windmill tactic - or at least the name for it - a few days ago... Great example Skipp!
The windmill tactic is an incredible and ingenious way of getting ahead in material.
didn't know it had a name...i've been victim of it before
I got the example from Yassir Seriwan's book "Winning Chess Tactics", which I've been studying; since I'm a rank beginner [at age 57] and am just now trying to learn this fascinating [and frustrating] game. How a game can draw you into it and then make you want to rip out your hair, I'll never understand.
Skip
I feel bad for black in that situation. They lost all of their material and there was nothing they could do.
Sorry I mean bishop
Black can play 1... Q(or B)xe4+
Like I said they were concentrating on their king.
I really didn't see that untill I posted it.
Another flaw with the second example is that ends up as stalemate, best to take Queen with the rook.
