Are there any OTB players very near or in Winston-Salem, NC? I can't seem to find an active club there?
Thanks,
Ed

Saw this on ncchess.org, no othe info:
Winston-Salem Chess ClubAfter losing our playing site at Borders when they closed a few months ago, the Winston-Salem Chess Club has scattered. We have now secured a new venue, meeting Thursdays from 7 (available as early as 6 for those inclined) to 9:45 pm at the Miller Park Recreation Center. From the Southwest corner of Thruway Shopping Center, where we met at Borders (off I-40 Business, Stratford or Knollwood Rd. exits), follow Knollwood Rd. south. about ¼ mile south of the intersection with Stratford, turn left from Knollwood onto Queen. (School on left, Miller Park on the right). Take Westfield on the right, then turn right again onto Leisure. Rec center is on the right. After entering the front entrance and spotting the reception area in front of you, look to the left for our room (or to the room behind this one, on the Southwest side of the building).Questions? Call:Lee Zinzow336-765-0753
Thanks Lee I appreciate your response and will soon attend one of the meetings.

Did not mean to imply that I was Lee, I had just been reading some threads on the North Carolina State web forum and remember seeing that thread. Hope it is a lively club, have fun.
Matt
Sorry Matt but thanks again for the information!!
Thanks, I've found two clubs which are now listed on the web.
Excellent. Some really good over the board tournaments in NC, Land of the Sky, LPO, some TACO tournament. NC chess is in much better shape than my home state unfortunately (for me, hehe).
Enjoy the battles.
