The chance that you encounter a starting position like this is 1/120. This mate has been fixed and legalised thanks to ichabod801.

Actually, there is no chance that you will see that position in a chess960 game. The reason being that it's not a legal starting position. In Chess960, the King must start between the rooks. No position starts with the king outside the rooks like that... sorry.

I believe there's eight ways to get a position with that sort of mate (four variations of knights and bishops, with reflections). So 1 in 120 chance.
