Question: is there a magazine or web site that I can find where 960 OTB tourneys are posted?

I hadn't googled this subject in a while, and the results this time were bleak.  There just aren't many tournaments, and I discovered that the premier tournament, the Mainz Chess Classic, didn't include 960 last year.  (Apparently, the prizes were corporate donations, and last year wasn't good for such things.)

I would gladly hold one in Detroit, but I need players.  Anyone?

After a bit more googling, I discovered that not only will there be no Chess960 this year at Mainz, there will be no Chess Classic at Mainz. Frown  Mainz was the really big showcase event for 960.

I haven't found any evidence of any Chess960 tournaments anywhere in the United States.

Yeah, it seems like chess960 is at least known my most of the chess community so its surprising that there is such a dearth of games available.  I would love to see a book of annotated GM 960 games.

In the mean time keep playing the game and supporting it. We are trying to keep the Chess960 dream alive in this temporary lull of activity (because Chess more generally is struggling to compete against other more instantly gratifying entertainments). Keep supporting Chess.com for Live Chess960 and support those who are trying to add to 960 theory with examples:

Wonderful and thank you for making the effort. Anything that aids the development of Chess960 concepts that reduce the anxiety that Chess players can feel when they look at a Chess960 position. It will be hard to organise Chess960 tournaments until chess players can see the enjoyment that is ever present in Chess960.

    Cheers
