Now right under "new game options" you should see the word "standard"?
That's actually a roll down menu, so when you click on the little arrow next to "standard" it becomes "chess 960". Have fun, and no I have no idea why they hide things either!
Chess 960 is all I play. It's way more fun than standard in my opinion. Looks like you've already been helped so have fun.

Can any of you please suggest where to click to be able to play chess960 on chess.com . I still don't have a rating for that variant.
