Oh snap, the joke continues! What other appliances will rear their heads with terrible ratings...

don't know but their will be more and their probably be something such as a pencil or maybe a rubik's cube

lol, same.

If I try to use my feet then my rating goes way down since I "touch" a lot of pieces with them.

My pencil has managed to beat my keyboard, thus getting him above the 0 at 2 points! He's worked MONTHS for this!!!

Did you ever stop to consider it may be the GM's that have maxed-out their ratings and their most significant bit is being interepretted as a negative instead of the most significatn part of a regular byte?

Precisely another reason for it to be an honour and wanting to play against them xD

Trust me, don't play these people with negative ratings. I once faced a -300 rated guy. I felt so superior being slightly higher-rated than him, but after earning my victory my rating went down 50 points.

I don't understand what you're asking. But that keyboard dropped into the 30's

Heh, it actually means + or - YOUR rating, by 300 pts.  So, if you are a 1600, your challenge goes to all players who are 1300 to 1900 in rating range.  :)

No, atomic. If someone is being pompous, pointing that out isn't pompous itself. Be sensible now.

Ho-kay, this borders on silliness.

Please, can we not?

Kupov - howabout we just agree that I'm pompous and call it at that?

It's obviously odd to "follow" someone around in threads insulting them. It's nice you were so forward about your intentions - t'would make an abuse report easier if I were in the mood.

Thanks for the defence, atomic, I was just going to chalk it up as cute, y'know? Like a puppy... a puppy that calls it's owner pompous, sure, but a puppy nonetheless.

Oh, and Kupov, since you live so close, if you're ever in Calgary we could meet up for an OTB game and you can call me pompous to my face. Haha, that's actually a friendly offer, not like I'd want to punch you or anything. Contrary to appearances I actually have a pretty fun view about my "online persona" or what have you - the whole point is to take it to certain (pompous) extremes sometimes; I love the experimentation (humor, anger, heartfelt analysis - gosh, where else can a writer experiment with the gamete of emotional pulls possible? It's a quick an easy way to see how you can influence people's reaction with language).

Aaaanyways... seriously. Of all the hilariously pointless debates going on in the Chess.com forums these days (whatever Suggo is up to, etc) can you please not actually be debating whether it's a good idea to follow me around calling me pompous?

Haha I imagine Kupov falling alseep at night, and he's like "aahhh another day - I got a lot done. I called Rael pompous in a good 4 threads today." and he's flooded with a feeling of blissful accomplishment.

Whatever floats your boat dude,

Captain Pompous out.

Awesome. But just so you recognise me when you get here, you should know I'm pretty skinny. If I was fat, I'd be less likely to be pompous and more likely to be jolly.

"Honey, does my avatar make me look fat?"

Do you remember the thread from WAY back, where I extended a post of yours, and you promised to take a pic of yourself in a pink bunny sweater and make it your avatar if someone mailed it to you? Is that still valid? Your mom has nothing on me! lol

BTW I killed your copy and paste thread :)

You killed the hot potato? Jesus.

I guess tonight is about me understanding all of the negative sideeffects of visibility.

xbigboy, Suggo, Kupov.

Sigh. I really think I'm going to do all of us a favour and I'll never post again.
