I believe the record for lowest ever Chess.com rating was first held by "timmaylivinalie"...

But there may be others.  Anyways, seems like zero is as low as you can go.

Oh totally I've known Timmay well - it's just funny that the default page, assuming your rating is zero - rather than the 1200 default that you get started with, gives the -300 and 300 rating range as your starters. Something with the code, right? You don't get given the default 1200 until you sign up - so while you view the same page as ZERO, you get given the -300 +300, haha. S'just funny is all.

Cellphone, cigarette, urn, yogi?

Ohhhh it's an Grigory picture. That makes sense.

Hahaha Awardchess you impossible-to-understand-gentleman, you inscruitable, lovable fool, bless you and your +3,3000 rating.

If I've learned anything since your appearence on this site, it's just to go along with your impassioned postings.

So: cheers, and God bless, good sir. I hope you post something appropriately esoteric, ungrammatical, with just a hint of mystic genius in response.

Ungrammatical does not equal misspelt, if that's the joke you're making, and moreover, the cigarette comment follows from your yogi picture.

I cannot wait to see you deliver on that promise.

And if chess.com picks a rambling, incoherent, spamcaptain over a previously contributing, intelligent, old ally, I'd be surprised.

Did you ever stop to consider it may be the GM's that have maxed-out their ratings and their most significant bit is being interepretted as a negative instead of the most significatn part of a regular byte?

Ratings can theoretically go infinitely up, so why not infinitely down? Why stop at zero? Zero is meaningless!

Oh snap, the joke continues! What other appliances will rear their heads with terrible ratings...
